Early Mordan slider pencil. The “S. Mordan & Co Makers & Patentees” on the barrel dates this pencil to between 1830 and 1845. This one is in working condition and has an amethyst stone in the cap that is in perfect condition. Line & dot pattern on barrel. Finial unscrews to reveal 3 internal tubes for lead storage.
