G. Betjemann – Silver

Interesting pencil from George Betjemann, London. Betjemann’s made dressing boxes and other specialty boxes for men and women. The boxes often included a number of items (mirrors, combs, scissors, pencils, etc.). It appears that Betjemann had most of these made for him by specialist makers. Examples of his boxes can be viewed online on the Antique Box Guide website. Some of these contained Mordan & Co items, including pencils so I suspect that this “Betjemann” pencil may have actually been made by Mordan, for the box maker.
