Rare piece designed by Alfred Taylor of Birmingham. The design lozenge pertains to design patent # 87148, filed by Alfred Taylor of Birmingham, in 1852. It is a commemorative piece in memory of the Duke of Wellington. The slide is styled with the Duke’s Coat of Arms, plus his birth year (1769) and death (1852).
