William Lund? – Wood

This style of pencil dates to the mid-1800’s. The patent for this mechanism was purchased by a man named William Lund from William Riddle, who patented it in 1848. This example appears to have a wooden barrel with ivory or bone cap and tip. There is no damage to the wood or the bone although there is age spots and discolouration on the cap & tip. The mechanism works perfectly.
