Mabie Todd – MOP

Mother of Pearl and gold plated Mabie Todd magic pencil in excellent condition. It is stamped “Mabie, Todd & Co.” on one side of the inner barrel and “Pearl Pat. MCH 8 81” on the other side. Working condition. No chips or cracks and extension/retraction is still smooth.

The March 8, 1881 patent date on the barrel refers to patent #238,735, Lewis P. Warth of New York applied for this patent on January 13, 1881 for a method of attaching pearl slabs to pencil cases.
