Fine example of a Mordan leather clad travel inkwell. All original and in near mint condition. It doesn’t appear to have ever held ink. The design of this one reflects Mordan’s attention to detail and quality. There is an internal spring under the ink bottle that applies additional pressure from below which help ensure a snug seal when closed. In addition, the opening clasp has a slide lock for double assurance that the lid won’t open during the rigors of Victorian travel. More information on Mordan inkwells can be found here.
