S. Mordan & Co. – Desk Set – Silver

This is a very nice Mordan desk set in sterling silver (not hallmarked). It comes in a fitted case and was sold by Houghton & Gunn stationers in London, on New Bond Street (their place of business from the 1840’s through 1906, when they were bought by their neighbour’s, Asprey’s). The case appears to be a nice shagreen, with the initials “C.Y.” embossed on the lid.  Both dip pen and pencil are in near mint condition.
