S. Mordan & Co. – “S. Mordan & Co. Patent”

Early Mordan tablet in very good condition. The clear part of the imprint is “Mordan & Co Patent” and there is a very faint “S” next to Mordan.  “S. Mordan & Co Patent” is not listed in any research material that I’ve been able to find, although “Mordan & Co Patent” (without the “S”) dates to 1823/1824., and was the first imprint used by Mordan which would make this a very early Mordan. The barrel is beautifully engraved and the capstone is a nice red ruby colour.
