Unknown Maker – BHR – Goodyears Patent

A BHR slider pencil with a decorative finial rather than the more common “cap”; fairly rare. It is very faintly stamped Goodyears Patent, along with the May 6, 1851 date in a ring around the barrel near the top but it is almost impossible to see any of it without a loupe. Very minor plate loss; excellent overall condition; nice original bloodstone capstone. Purchased as part of a lot of 4 BHR pencils from a US eBayer.
