S. Mordan & Co. – Gravity Pencil – 9CT Gold – 1843

This is a well marked 9ct gold gravity pencil from Sampson Mordan. The cap release button is stamped “.375” on top and is engraved “Mordan Everpoint 1843” on the side. The barrel casing itself is stamped S.M. & Co, the Mordan “arrow”, and 2 hallmark stamps that are too worn for me to guess at. It is also engraved “Mira Fanshawe, Sidmount, Moffat”. Moffat is a small town in Scotland. The extension piece is also marked “<9>” and “.375”. There are several very tiny dings along the barrel but nothing serious enough to detract from this great pencil.
