A non spill Georgian clear glass inkwell c1780. These glass inkwells were used by customs officers on patrol and they were tied to the belt with cord around the shoulder. They are spill proof with the neck extending down into the bottle so that no matter what happens the ink wont spill, and this one works perfectly. These would have been very hard for the glassmaker to make. If you put liquid in these inkwells it is impossible to spill it which is ingenious. The glass itself is in excellent condition, with two very tiny fleabites along the edge of the base. Lots of bubbles in the glass. A somewhat wornout quill pen was sent along with the ink bottle.
